What this site knows about you
Less than most. There are no accounts here, no logins and no profiles, and this page explains what is left.
Who is responsible
Table Watch Post publishes tablewatchpost.com and is the data controller for personal data processed through it, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Questions, requests and complaints all go to privacy@tablewatchpost.com and are answered within one month.
What is collected, and why
Three categories, and no more than three.
- Technical data from the hosting platform. IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is created automatically by serving the page, is used to keep the site available and to spot abuse, and rests on our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- Analytics data, only with consent. Aggregated figures on which pages are read and which links are followed. Nothing runs until you agree through the cookie notice, and the lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- What you send us. If you email the desk, or use the contact form — which opens your own email client rather than posting to a server here — we hold your name, address and message for as long as it takes to deal with it. That is a legitimate interest in answering correspondence.
There is no marketing list, no newsletter and no advertising profile. Special category data is never sought and should not be sent to us.
How long anything is kept
Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a short rolling period and then discarded. Analytics data is aggregated and holds no identifiers that would let anyone pick out an individual. Correspondence is kept while a matter is open and for up to twelve months afterwards, so that a follow-up email still makes sense, and is then deleted.
Who else is involved
The site is served by a hosting provider that processes technical data on our behalf. Web fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a connection to Google's servers when a page loads. If the optional analytics cookies are accepted, an analytics provider processes the aggregated usage data described above. These are processors acting under contract; none of them is given permission to use the data for their own purposes.
Personal data is not sold, rented or traded. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, that transfer relies on the safeguards permitted under UK data protection law, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
Following an affiliate link
When you follow a link to an operator, you leave this site. The link carries a tracking parameter identifying Table Watch Post as the referrer, and from that point the operator's own privacy policy governs everything — including any identity checks, account data and marketing preferences. We receive commission reports that count sign-ups; we do not receive your name, your account details or anything you do once you are there. The affiliate disclosure covers the commercial side of that arrangement.
Cookies
Only essential cookies run before you make a choice. Everything optional waits for consent, and the notice can be answered either way without losing access to any part of the site. The cookie policy lists each cookie, what it does and how long it lasts, and explains how to change your mind later.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to processing based on legitimate interests, ask for processing to be restricted, and withdraw consent for anything based on consent. Requests are free and are handled within one month of receipt.
Send them to privacy@tablewatchpost.com. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, which is the UK's independent data protection authority.
Children
This site is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. No part of it is designed to collect data from anyone under 18, and any such data brought to our attention is deleted.
Changes to this policy
If the site changes what it collects or who processes it, this page is rewritten and the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes are described in the text rather than slipped into a version number.
